Due to the state-wide stay-at-home order issued March 19, 2020, Modesto Area Express has implemented an essential travel and social distancing policy for all MAX and Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride (MADAR) riders. This enables us to limit interaction and exposure to riders and our drivers so we can continue to deliver safe and essential transportation services to the community.
Riders should limit trips for essential needs only such as travel to work, medical appointments, and grocery/supply shopping. During essential travel, riders should practice social distancing on vehicles when possible. Examples of this include sitting in alternating rows or keeping two empty seats between riders.
