Modesto Area Express (MAX) is excited that California has officially reopened and has been able to lift its face mask requirements in many places. However, we would like to remind you that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) still requires individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask while using public transportation.
Masks are not required while waiting outside at a bus stop, but please secure one before boarding a MAX or Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride (MADAR) vehicle.
Following the President’s executive order and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) emergency order, the mask requirement on public transit will remain in effect until January 18, 2022. MAX and MADAR would like to thank the community for following this measure while riding the bus!
