The services previously known as Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride (MADAR) and Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) Paratransit, are now combined into a robust ADA paratransit service covering most of Stanislaus County. The Shuttles (East Side, Waterford, Turlock), Dial-A-Rides (Newman, Oakdale, Patterson, Riverbank), and the Medivan program, will all continue under the new "Ride The S" brand. The new name and look will start showing up on Dial-A-Ride vehicles beginning in February 2022. Keep your eye out for bright navy-blue buses with the easy-to-spot golden “S” on the sides!
For most Dial-A-Ride and ADA Paratransit passengers, riding The S will cost less in 2022. Single trip tickets will be sold for $2.50 and in convenient 10 packs for $25.00. You can also pay $2.50 in cash when boarding the bus. Ticket books can no longer be purchased on the bus. Qualified individuals can purchase discount tickets for $1.50 or $15.00 for a 10-pack. Please note that the discount tickets cannot be used for ADA Paratransit. The new tickets are currently on sale at the Modesto Transit Center and Modesto City Hall, 1010 10th Street, 2nd-floor Cashier’s Office.
